Christine Moore (she/her/hers) grew up in rural Northern California surrounded by nature. She holds an MFA from the University of San Francisco. Living in Santa Clara for the past decade, she became involved in teaching poetry through her own children. She has experience working with students of all ages. Moore believes poetry is a playground for words and feels children are often the most adept at that play. Poetry’s ability to investigate life, build resilience, stimulate growth, and find stable ground fuels her passion for bringing poetry into the lives of others.
When working with Moore, students expand and explore their creative writing skills with a true writing ally by their side. Moore’s fun and empowering teaching style allows young writers to grow their craft, creativity, and competence.
Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Pasadena Review; Interim; 26: C A Journal of Poetry and Poetics; Pinhole Poetry and The Inflectionist Review. Her chapbook, Lent Words, will be published in early 2024.
