This year Alice Pero established a residency for elementary school students at Fair Oaks Academy in Altadena with classes of children from age 5 through 13.
She became the 10th Poet Laureate of Sunland/Tujunga in 2019 with a formal installation happening on April 9th. Her term was extended for two more years due to the pandemic. https://www.coloradoboulevard.net/sunland-tujunga-to-crown-new-poet-laureate/
She has a new book out with an NYC artist, Vera Langer, a dialogue in poetry and art, "Beyond Birds & Answers."(Elyssar Press) Recently she had a poems in an international journal, "Pratik" and the anthology "We Are Here." During the quarantine period, she finished a manuscript, "Shadow Carvings." Writing poetry dialogues with other poets is Alice's passion and she is involved in about six of them, as well as the continuing exchanges with the artist Langer.
