Street Art and Poetry in Mendocino County

Point Arena's Pacific Community Charter High School students created “street art & poetry” this past spring. This project was part of an arts and writing enrichment grant through the Arts Council of Mendocino County and the Mendocino Office of Education. Students created sidewalk murals using spray chalk and did “masking tape poetry” (imitating the amazing North Beach sidewalk poet Elvis Christ who died a few years ago).
